Hahndorf Hill Brother Nature Field Blend 2022

The Hahndorf Hill Winery is located in a German-heritage village of Hahndorf in South Australia. With thier cool-climate growing conditions in the Adelaide Hills, they are pioneers in the Austrian grape varieties of Gruner Veltliner, Blaufrankisch, Zweigelt and St Laurent.

The Brother Nature Field Blend is an authentic field blend, using 12 different white varieties interplanted within a single vineyard block at Hahndorf Hill. This multicultural block took seven years to develop, and the 2022 is the first vintage to be released.

The intimacy of these 12 different varieties growing together allows them to influence one another, thereby harmonising the development and ripening trajectory of this multi-cultural block. Ultimately, this true Field Blend process has no focus on a single grape variety, but instead showcases this vineyard's unique terroir, in the bottle.

On a single, pre-determined day, all the co-grown fruit is co-harvested by hand, and then co-fermented in the winery. This blend is therefore truly made within the field, and not in the winery.
