Mayer 'Dr Mayer' Pinot Noir 2024

Timo Mayer made quite a name for himself as in the Yarra Valley in Victoria, where he started his own winemaking in the 2000s. Since then, he became known for his distinctive and unique wines, full of character and personality, always emphasising terroir.

The ‘Doktor’ is Timo’s wild child — whole-bunch fermentation, with lifted aromatics and a palate with grip and structure. It’s a Pinot that’s full of energy and personality, yet unmistakably varietal. While it leans into the funky, herbal spectrum, there's still plenty of red fruit and structure to ground it. This vintage brings a riper fruit profile, yet it doesn't detract from the wine's quintessential whole-bunch character, earthiness, and lift with a little chaos thrown in — just what the doktor ordered.
